Energy Audit in Tangerang City

The Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy (GCoM) Asia Project is an initiative funded by the European Union (EU) designed to encourage cities in Asia, to strengthen their dedication to climate action.

Tangerang is among the pilot cities in Indonesia participating in the GCoM, having finalised its Climate Action Plan (CAP) in 2023. A key suggestion from the CAP was to undertake energy audits as part of its mitigation efforts.

Green Partnership IndoSEA conducted level 1 and level 2 energy audits in Tangerang City, covering 12 representative public buildings including schools, health centers, and government offices. The energy-saving recommendations derived from these audits are being extrapolated to approximately 600 public buildings with similar characteristics in Tangerang.

The outcomes of this initiative include an energy efficiency roadmap for the 12 representative buildings, an analysis of cost savings, and an estimate of the total reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
