Asih Budiati
Director / Co-Founder
Asih is a dedicated advocate for climate change and sustainable development initiatives, over 18 years of experience in project management. Throughout her career, she has overseen projects related to climate change (mitigation and adaptation), energy, waste management, and sustainable development in East, South, and Southeast Asia. She has collaborated with various international development agencies, including UNICEF, UNESCAP, AusAID, UKAID-DFID, UNDP, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Millennium Challenge Corporation, and the European Union.
Asih holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering from Diponegoro University, Master's degree in Sustainable Development from University of Torino, and postgraduate degree in Climate Change and Sustainable Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Additionally, she is a certified PPP practitioner by the World Bank, with experience in preparing PPP scheme projects such as the airport in Komodo Island and the Intermediate (Waste) Treatment Facility for the Government of Jakarta.
Asih has actively contributed at the global negotiation by participating at the first-ever UNFCCC Global Stocktake process. She represented as a Non-Party Stakeholder for Technical Dialogue 1.2 Roundtable 1 on Mitigation during COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt in 2022. Furthermore, she served as a Technical Expert at the Technical Dialogue 1.3 on Rapid Urban Development on Coastal Region during the UNFCCC World Climate Week in Bonn, Germany in 2023. Currently she’s one of the co-authors for the IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Cities to be released as part of the IPCC Seventh Assessment Report (AR7).
